As they say, one good turn deserves another... On June 20th, Dmitry Prosvirov and Bohannon Orr got a chance to return the favor that Shuny Bee paid us by visiting KF of GD. They were among a select few other martial artists invited to attend a fight choreography workshop for Bee's newest film in production, "Fight of Fury", which will star Shuny Bee, Kathy Long and Eric Lee. It is expected to be released near springtime of next year.
Golden Dragon Kung Fu is preparing to strike the celluloid! On June 15th, the kwoon received a visit from martial arts instructor and film actor Shuny Bee out of the blue! Bee was in awe as he perused our dojo and training tools, including our twin Wooden Men. Afterwards, Master Valery and he discussed potential future film projects, including the upcoming third installment of the Lessons of Fate Series.
May 31st marked a momentous occasion in the martial arts world; this day marked the video documentary release and honorary life tribute of martial arts legend Eric Lee. Grandmaster Valery was in attendance along with many other renowned figures in martial arts, including legendary cinema action choreographer Ewart Chin and acclaimed instructor and Owner/Chief Editor of Sidekick Publications Allen Woodman.

With the myriad of things constantly going on in Kung Fu of Golden Dragon, one thing is never far from Master Valery's mind; his personal vision of changing the world with traditional principles of Kung Fu. He has been working toward this goal with his self-pinned series, Lessons of Fate. The first installment, Wisdom, was a mystic, ethereal take on an ancient Chinese tale. Its sweeping yet well-tailored message served as a proper prequel for the second installment, Dignity.
From a beginning, I felt that studying traditional Kung Fu was something that would embrace great part of my life. And now, my life revolts around this without a doubt. Training with Kirill Nesterenkov opened my eyes to see the world and myself in a different way. Priorities change, thus this has been a process of inner change. A process infinitely far away from reaching completion (if there is such a thing), but it fills my life with the search of perfecting myself by the way of Kung Fu.

So, We Took A Hike...
On March 22nd, our school was honored to receive a special guest who is well-renowned in the martial arts world. Sensei Allen Woodman, who has more than 40 years of martial arts training in numerous styles such as Kyokushin and Wing Chun (including direct tutelage under the late great Sosai Mas Oyama and Yip Chun, son of Yip Man), stopped by the school to commiserate with Master Valery and show some cool techniques to some of his esteemed pupils.

Currently a student in college (on my last year!) I have been taking Kung Fu with Dmitry for about 6 months now, and I've only seen positive results. Dmitry's positive attitude and his personality attributes help the one-on-one feel less like I'm at a lecture, although you could say a class is a class, to which I'd disagree. I've taken multiple sports in highschool as well as the beginning of my college years, and I'd go as far to say that this form of physical education is something so unique, it's not just your typical fitness routine It's more than that. Aside from the benefit of physical exercise, the breathing exercises, qi gong, helped me relax my mind which is something I haven't felt in a while, made me much more concentrated, mindful and surroundings overall. I believe if it wasn't the Kung Fu exercises, I would've never been able to do as well in this last half a year at college as I am now. Martial Arts has for sure implemented itself into my life and is very very important to me. Thank you!

Master Dmitry has been a fantastic teacher for me and my entire family, primarily for my children! They just love him! If you're unaware, Dmitry isn't only a great trainer for adults, but also teaches kids, ages of 5 and up, making him not only a variety trainer... My children get the activity and exercise they need, as well as knowledge about the arts and techniques for self defense. This is very important to us. As someone with his own kids, Dmitry has perfectly understood the approach to ours, and how to have fun while also making it their favorite extracurricular.
