Crepe Day Celebration Report (March, 12, 2016)
12.03.2016
On Saturday, March 12th, Kung Fu of Golden Dragon celebrated Crepe Day, or Maslentitsa, one of the oldest Russian folk holidays. The family festivities were fun for all, with culture lessons and conversation for the adults, games for the children, and plenty of crepes for everyone!
The kids were especially excited to get to make their own crepes right here at the school! After everyone had their fill of delicious pancakes to celebrate the coming of the new season, we completed the tradition by making Maslenitsa dolls (big congrats to our studnet Sophia Parker for winning first place in the doll-making contest) and burning them to ring in the Spring! We look forward to a great season, and to another fun Maslenitsa next year!
